DELTA STATE GOVERNMENT FLAGS-OFF IT’S 500 SKILLS UP-SKILLING COLLABORATION EXERCISE WITH EML(CLICKAFIX)

In the bid to curb the unemployment in the State, this administration led by His Excellency the Governor Sen. Dr ifeanyi Arthur Okowa from inception to date has demonstrated high level of commitment in human capital development through skill training and job creation programs wherein Delta youths are made self-reliant, employable, deployable and entrepreneurs. This statement was issued by the Executive Secretary Delta State Vocational Education Board Engr. Smart Ikem during the flag-off ceremony of Delta State Government and Eastern Metal Limited Skills up-Skilling and Clickafix Employment Application Portal Launch program.

In his speech, Engr. Ikem stated that this program is aimed at up-skilling 500 Artisans in Electrical Plumbing and Tiling in the first phase. While speaking, he said that there would be a mobile market platform (Clickafix) where the successful trainees would be on-boarded and linked with clients that need their services. More so, the Executive Secretary, stated that the program and its’ operation has been fully paid for by the Delta State Government.

Further speaking, he opined that ” for the effectiveness of this program, the first phase will be kicked started with the successful 216 Artisans who have passed through the proficiency exercise where their demonstration of competence in skill was put to test in Electrical, Plumbing and Tiling” stating that the training will be for a period of three (3) weeks intensive learning.
In the same vein, the Hon. Commissioner ministry of Technical Education Princess Shola Ogbemi Diabo, commended His Excellency and stated that the program is apt and the outcome of the program will improve skills technology adoption, networking opportunities, expansive employment offers and more so usher in a new era of growth and development for people in building industry.

In a goodwill message, the Chief Job and Wealth Creation Officer, Professor Eric Eboh encouraged the trainees and encouraged them to be good ambassadors of the Programme.

The highlight of the occasion was when His Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa who was ably represented by the Chief Economic Adviser Dr. Kingsley Emu flagged-off and Launched the ClickAfix program.
In his speech, he made known to artisans that the aim of the program is to up- skill their skills to meet with the global standard. He advised the participates to take the program serious and put in total commitment that in the end of the program, a certificate would be issued.

In attendance were Professor Eric Eboh,Delta State Chief Job and Wealth Creation Officer, the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Youth Development ably represented, Chairman and DG DIDA represented, MD-EML,Mr. Arun Goswanmi, Directors from CLICKAFIX Mr. Pawan Bhandari, Mr. Osaro Abu, Arunsha Goswanmi, Chairman TVEB and Directors from the Board, among others.
