HIS EXCELLENCY, THE GOVERNOR,  SEN. DR. IFEANYI ARTHUR OKOWA HAS APPROVED THE ABSORPTION OF INSTRUCTORS IN 12 VOCATIONAL EDUCATION CENTRES OF THE STATE INTO THE STATE CIVIL SERVICE.

The Executive Secretary Delta State Technical and Vocational Education Board, said that the State Government has approved the absorption of the Instructors in 12 Vocational Education Centres of the State into the Delta State Civil Service.  He made this statement today at the graduation ceremony of 300 trainees of the Delta State Vocational Education Centre, Asaba.

While speaking, Engr. Ikem applauded His Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for establishing Vocational Education Centres in almost all the Local Government Areas of the State, adding that the establishment of these Vocational Education Centres has helped the youths to become self reliant, employable, deployable, entrepreneurs and employers of labour. Speaking further, he congratulated the out going trainees and enjoined them to put their hands to use, as a hands that is idle, is a recipe for the devil’s workshop. He further, advised  that they should keep advancing in knowledge to enable them be at par with trending development.

Earlier on, the Centre Administrator Mrs Ebiere Gilo thanked His Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, who in the quest to extend prosperity to all Deltans with the intent to replicate another China and Japan through his job creation drive, decided to barrage the State with more Vocational Education Centres. She further added that in this time of economic downturn with high rate of youth unemployment, His Excellency the Governor has set strategic objectives to strengthen Vocational Education training and to expand a formal apprenticeship scheme in Delta State, which is a perfect way of linking formal education and vocational training with the aim of decongesting the labour market while extending wider opportunity to Deltans .

In a goodwill message, Dr. Emmanuel Bratte a retired director in the Delta State Civil Service (Economic Sector) assured the graduate trainees that his organization will collaborate with the State government efforts through the World Bank support initiatives.
